Teeth Whitening Options
At Plenty Smiles, we primary recommend in-chair whitening. There are also take-home kits available. We work exclusively with the Philips Zoom teeth whitening system, which is the market leader in the industry.
In-Office Whitening
In just about an hour, you can have your entire whitening procedure completed. You’ll leave the office with your new smile and a greater sense of confidence. During this process, you’ll be seated in a comfortable dental chair and have the soft tissues of your mouth protected. A whitening solution is applied, accelerated with a specialised light. We may repeat this a couple of times until the desired results are reached.

Take-Home Kits
We recommend that after you do in-chair whitening, you get a take-home kit. This kit will allow you to touch up your results as needed, ensuring that you never lose the bright white smile you’ve gained through your teeth whitening procedure.

Can I get a take-home kit without doing in-chair whitening?
Yes. For those who would prefer to do their treatment at home, Plenty Smiles also offers a convenient take-home kit that is just as effective. While there are many whitening kits available over the counter, the difference in our take-home kits would be the fact that they would be perfectly customized for you and your specific needs.
How long will the results of whitening last?
We’re dedicated to giving you a radiant smile that lasts which is why our in chair whitening procedures tend to be fairly long lasting. However, the length of time your teeth stay white will depend on the health and structure of your mouth, but most people find their whitening treatment gives them results for two years after they start. After this period, we’ll be happy to help you make sure your teeth maintain the desired shade of white.
Is there an age limit to whitening?
You must be at least 18 years of age to do any teeth whitening. We recommend that you only undertake whitening once your teeth are finished growing. There is no older limit on having teeth whitening. Note, however, that any restorations you have, such as crowns or bridges, will not respond to whitening, as they are not real teeth.
How long does in-chair whitening take?
Your in-chair whitening procedure takes about an hour. You can schedule during your lunch hour or at another convenient time without having to worry about booking in for a follow-up.
How does having regular checkups impact the colour of my teeth?
Your regular checkups involve an examination of your teeth, identifying any potential problems so they can be addressed. It also involves the removal of buildup from your teeth. This buildup is yellowish in colour and cannot be removed by brushing. You may feel that your teeth look quite bright after having this simple scraping done at the dentist.
